“The first photo was taken at a time when I was pouring everything into everyone else. I was trying to balance three kids, a demanding career, my marriage, our home and everything in between. I put myself last—as moms often do—and, as a result, I was everyone else’s cheerleader but my own. I was tired of feeling tired, run-down and full of excuses. Most importantly, I was tired of speaking so negatively to myself. We only get one life, and I wanted to thrive internally as well as externally. The second group of photos is the result of intentional work: making lifestyle changes, prioritizing myself and my needs, and asking for help. As much as the number on the scale has changed, it isn’t nearly as important as the way I now describe myself, speak to myself and love myself. This is a personal journey, and mine isn’t over yet. I’m excited to see what more the next four months will bring, both internally and externally. I’m here to tell you that, as a busy working mom, it is possible to find yourself again while still prioritizing what matters most to you. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you feel stuck—and get yourself a Brooke!”
